The Server db0lj.prgm.org offers access via internet for licenced and registered hams to the Packet-Radio-Digipeater DB0LJ.
The user needs a password
protected account, which is primarily limited to users who are registered
to the Amateur Radio Portal www.afuforum.de,
and a suitable client
software (the primitive Windows "telnet-client" does not work !)
WPP
Very comfortable is
the usage of the powerfull
Packet-Radio-Terminalprogram WPP (WindowsPacketProgram)
from Wolfgang, DH3WW.
WPP supports telnet
access to packet-radio since version 3.08.
You will find WPP at
the WPP-Website
and also in our fileserver at http://download.prgm.org/ham/packet/wpp.
information are available
in the area
WPP of the Packet-Radio-BBS DB0LJ-8.
Configuration
information for using WPP at for telnet access are available here
!
Telnet
A less comfortable way
is to use a telnet client. You will need a client which supports "Passiv-Negotiation-Mode",
without this you will not be able to logon to the server.
The default output format of the server is for usage of WPP, it sends <CR> at the end of each line and no <LF>. This is not planned to be changed because converting would cause trouble in usual Packet-Radio binary transfer modes.
For Windows-based systems the Freeware-Client PuTTY should be a good choice to get around this problem.
PuTTY is available for download on the internet for several operating systems (incl. sources), for example at http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty or locally at http://download.prgm.org/windows/com/putty and on our fileserver of the packet-radio BBS DB0LJ-8 in the directory /windows/com/putty
You only need the small telnet-version (without SSH) puttytel.exe
On a Linux system the standard telnet-Client should work like this:
* open Linux-console
* enter command "telnet"
* at the prompt telnet> enter the
command "toggle crmod"
* after confirmation enter "open db0lj.prgm.org
10023"
* enter callsign and password
Interested, licenced
